Ladies, Love Your Body to the Bones

I, along with the Susan G. Komen Foundation would like to end Breast Cancer. Therefore, this makes me determined to get the word out about anything and everything that will help women live healthy lifestyles or at least help in the cause. Let’s all start by imposing some information that has been handed to me by the Susan G. Komen Foundation. As a woman of color, the Know Your Girls campaign is just one cause that speaks volumes to why more women should get involved. Please visit the Know Your Girls website, click here https://ww5.komen.org

In August of 2017, I went for my regular breast cancer screening since age 40, yes I turned 40 in 2011; everything went smooth, then a few days later I got a call. The test showed something that did not look good; I assured myself it was nothing because I touch myself (Ode to a song) quite often since finding out I have dense breasts, and sure enough the test results were negative. One of the first steps to combat breast cancer is to do self-examinations or annual check-ups by your doctor. I see my physician of three years now, Dr. Lina Shammas, who teaches me to take extra precaution for anything hard or things abnormal to the touch on my girls/breasts/boobs paying homage to the

Sweet Black History Month, We Salute Our Ancestors

Here are five Quotes from Some of Our Great Family of Ancestors

“I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.”
― Malcolm X

I think slavery is the next thing to hell. If a person would send another into bondage, he would, it appears to me, be bad enough to send him into hell if he could. _Harriet Tubman

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.

I never hurt nobody but myself and that’s nobody’s business but my own.__Billie Holiday

“I’m starting with the man in the mirror,
I’m asking him to change his ways;
And no message could have been any clearer,
If you wanna make the world a better place,
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change!”
― Michael Jackson

Gospel Artist, Chris Bolton

This past, Friday, I had the distinguished pleasure of speaking with Gospel Artist, Chris Bolton about his upcoming tour honoring Caregivers.

Interview:

Ramelle:   Hong long have you been singing?
Chris:  I have been singing since the age of 6 years old, I am originally from the Chicago area, and my grandfather sang in a quartet, so singing has just been in my blood, I started professionally when I turned 19, with background vocals for Mary MaryAndre Crouch which to me was a blessing. I currently can be heard on the intro of Snoop Dogg’s Gospel CD titled Bible of Love.
Ramelle  You have an upcoming tour called the Chris Bolton Experience Tour.,  giving honor to Caregivers (a family member or paid helper who regularly looks after a child or a sick, elderly, or disabled person) tell me why such an honor.
Chris:    The Chris Bolton Experience shows are because I became a Caregiver to my mother who passed away from breast cancer; many times when our parents get older; we want to put them in a nursing home, and I could not do this to my mother.  I stepped up; it was a struggle, now I want to help give information about programs available to Caregivers, and about Caregiver solutions. I did not know about them when I cared for my mother, so this is something definitely from my heart.
Ramelle:    This is wonderful; lastly, the great, Aretha Franklin has passed, do you have a favorite song by her?
Chris:   Oh, wow, I love all of Aretha Franklin music, I mean she touched on every genre, from gospel, classical, R&B, but my favorite has to be “Natural Woman.”
I want to thank Chris Bolton for the interview; please Click the links (below) to find out more about his Caregiver Tour, and support a Blogger who stays positive.

Not selfish, self-care, take care

Temperment of Time

I relax in knowing what I can achieve by owning my spiritual truth, see my life goes in and out of balance. Movement displaces my thoughts, the agony of defeat I try to resist, the depths that reach the cluttered, noisy slice of time are annoyances. I stare down the different ground below my feet as if I am standing on a tumbleweed, prancing back and forth. I am in transition, feeling like everything I fear is next to me. My stomach is in knots, I ask myself, “How to pray will help me endure?’

Then in a tailspin, I know my restlessness begins as a result of putting pride aside. My mind tells me to believe; these disastrous endeavors cannot destroy the fabric of my soul. It’s time to exercise my brain and speak with dire sense and sensibility. Enchantment tales, so intense in my thoughts are more profound because the elastic of my bodies’ soul and follicles remain intact. Consequently, my heart embraces excellent and valuable information.

What do I believe? A higher power or myself. I think of the higher power within me. Life can be limitless, so perpetuate the power of positivity. Therefore, feel the room, now fill the room with enriching devices, leave yourself little notes telling about how great you are. Second of all, take advice from people who are useful to you, begin to laugh out loud and when asked, just state in a beautiful diction, “I am happy.”

My temperament cannot take the time
